چکیده

Many applications in mobile robotics require the safe execution of a collision-free motion to a goal position. Planning approaches are well suited for achieving a goal position in known static environments, while real-time obstacle avoidance methods allow reactive motion behavior in dynamic and unknown environments. This paper proposes the global dynamic window approach as a generatlization of the dynamic window approach. It combines methods from motion planning and real-time obstacle avoidance to result in a framework that allows robust execution of highvelocity, goal-directed, reactive motion for a mobile robot in unknown and dynamic environments. The global dynamic window approach is applicable to nonholonomic and holonomic mobile robots.

Navigation of a Mobile Robot Using Virtual Potential Field and Artificial Neural Network

Mobile robot navigation is one of the basic problems in robotics. In this paper, a new approach is proposed for autonomous mobile robot navigation in an unknown environment. The proposed approach is based on learning virtual parallel paths that propel the mobile robot toward the track using a multi-layer, feed-forward neural network. For training, a human operator navigates the mobile robot in ...

High speed navigation of a mobile robot based on robot’s experiences

In this paper, it is shown how a mobile robot can navigate with high speed in dynamic real environment. Our control scheme is developed based on the dynamic window approach [2]. Although the mobile robot is able to navigate using the DWA, there is a fundamental limitation that the robot can avoid only “visible” obstacles. There are many dangerous regions where dynamic obstacles appear abruptly,...

Navigation of an Autonomous Car Using Vector Fields and the Dynamic Window Approach

This work presents a safe navigation approach for a carlike robot. The approach relies on a global motion planning based on Velocity Vector Fields along with a Dynamic Window Approach for avoiding unmodeled obstacles. Basically, the vector field is associated with a kinematic, feedback-linearization controller whose outputs are validated, and eventually modified, by the Dynamic Window Approach....

Comparison of Global Navigation Satellite System Devices on Speed Tracking in Road (Tran)SPORT Applications

Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) are, in addition to being most widely used vehicle navigation method, becoming popular in sport-related tests. There is a lack of knowledge regarding tracking speed using GNSS, therefore the aims of this study were to examine under dynamic conditions: (1) how accurate technologically different GNSS measure speed and (2) how large is latency in speed me...
